USM Board of Regents to Vote on Proposed Academic Programs, Capital Budget
Adelphi, Md. (June 14, 2010) -- The University
System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents at its next meeting will vote on
several new academic proposals and act upon the fiscal year 2012 capital budget
request and the FY 2012-2016 capital improvement program.
The
public session of the meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. Friday, June 18, at the Richard A. Henson
Center Ballroom on the campus of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore
(UMES), located at 1 Backbone Road, Princess Anne, MD.
At
8:15 a.m., a special public session of the regents committee on education
policy will be held at the same location to vote on a proposed M.S. in Human
Computer Interaction at the University of Maryland, College Park. If approved by the education policy committee,
the regents will take action on that program and four others previously approved
by the committee.
The
votes on capital budgets follow the annual capital budget workshop last month to
review and discuss strategic goals for the system's capital improvement
program. The presidents of the system's 12 institutions participated in that
workshop.
The
regents also will hear the Chancellor's annual report and reports from the
councils of university system presidents, faculty, staff and students.
After
the public meeting, the board will meet in executive session.
