Regents Meet at University of Maryland Eastern Shore, October 19
ADELPHI, Md. (October 16, 2007) - The University
System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will convene its October public
meeting on Friday, October 19, 2007, at 8:30 a.m. The meeting will be held in
Rooms 1112-1116 of the Richard A. Henson Center on the campus of
University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES), UMES Boulevard (Maryland Route
822), Princess Anne, MD. The public meeting will be followed by an executive
session of the board at 11 a.m.
Action items before the board include:
- Proposal for
a Master of Landscape Architecture program at University of Maryland, College
Park (UMCP);
- Report and recommendations
of the PreK-16 English Composition Task Force;
- Creation of
a School of Management Science and
Economics at Coppin State University;
- Increase authorization
for renovation of three sorority houses at UMCP.
The board will also receive updates on the Middle States accreditation
of University of Maryland, Baltimore County; NCAA academic
progress rates at UMCP and UMES; and the status of capital improvement projects
across the system.
The meeting will include reports from USM Chancellor
William E. Kirwan, the Regents' capital campaign workgroup, and the councils of
university system presidents, faculty, staff, and students.
