Board of Regents Meets September 7th at the Universities at Shady Grove
ADELPHI, Md. (September 4, 2007) - The University
System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will convene its September public
meeting on Friday, September 7, 2007, at 8:30 a.m. The meeting will be held in
the Germantown Room of Building II at the Universities at Shady Grove (USG), 9630 Gudelsky
Drive, Rockville, MD. The board will honor the recipients of the annual Board of Regents
Staff Awards during the meeting.
The meeting will include information reports from USM Chancellor
William E. Kirwan and from the councils of university system presidents,
faculty, staff, and students. The board will also hear a report on the
Governor's Commission on Climate Change from Donald Boesch, president of the
University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science (UMCES).
In addition, the board will consider action on an auxiliary facility
and tuition revenue bond resolution to finance system-funded capital projects. The
meeting will conclude with a tour of the SG III, the newly opened 192,000-square-foot
educational facility which incorporates "green" design and effectively triples USG's
student capacity.
