USM Board of Regents Committee to Meet September 15, Present Regents Staff Awards
Adelphi, Md. (Sept. 13, 2017) -- The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of
Regents at its next meeting will honor the recipients of the Board of Regents
staff awards. The board also will vote on a proposed board of visitors for
Coppin State University and hear an information on fiscal year 2017 fundraising
totals.
The meeting will begin at 9
a.m. on Friday, September 15 on the seventh floor of the Albin O. Kuhn Library on
the campus of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). The address
is 1000 Hilltop Circle, Baltimore, MD.
The meeting will begin with
an educational forum, "The Diversity Pipeline," presented by Dr. Sonja Santelises,
chief executive officer of Baltimore City Public Schools.
The staff awards recognize
staff members who have made exceptional contributions to their organizations,
students and the university community. Recipients will be honored by the board
at an earlier private awards breakfast, and then acknowledged shortly after the
start of the public session.

to discuss items exempted from public consideration under the Open Meetings
Act. These items include various personnel matters (including
presidential reviews), acquisition of real property, collective bargaining, and
any item requiring consideration in closed session to comply with a specific
statutory requirement. Background information and the
full agenda with supporting materials and the closing statement are available here.
