USM Board of Regents Committee on Audit Meets October 19
Adelphi, Md. (Oct. 17, 2016) -- The
University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents Committee on Audit will
meet at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 19. The meeting will be held in the
Chancellor's Conference Room in the Elkins Building at the USM headquarters,
3300 Metzerott Road, Adelphi, MD.
In
public session, the committee will hear several discussion items. Those items
include reviews of the following reports: USM information technology standards;
system-wide financials and balance sheet information (draft form); and the USM
Internal Audit Quality Assessment Report. The committee also will discuss and
vote on proposed reviews of Board of Regents (BOR) policies I-7.00 (Policy on
Public Ethics of Members of BOR) and VIII-7.50 (USM Internal Audit Charter).
The
committee then will vote on whether to reconvene in closed session. In closed
session, the committee would consider items specifically exempted in the Open
Meetings Act from the requirement for public consideration. Those items are: legislative
audit matters that are ongoing and, therefore, confidential; discussion of
investigative matters that may lead to criminal prosecution; discussion of
possible acquisition of real property by a USM institution; calendar year 2016
internal audit plan of activity; and consultation with independent auditors.
The public session agenda and supporting materials regarding the
proposed closed session can be found here.
