USM Regents Committee on Organization and Compensation Meets Oct. 10
Adelphi, Md. (Oct. 7, 2016) -- The University System of Maryland
(USM) Board of Regents Committee on Organization and Compensation will meet via
conference call at 3 p.m. Monday, October 10. Public access to the public
session of the meeting is at the Columbus Center, Board Room G020, 701 E. Pratt
Street, Baltimore, MD.
In public session,
the committee will review an information item concerning the presidential
search processes for Bowie State University and the University of Maryland
Center for Environmental Science. The committee also will hear an information
item regarding routine five-year performance reviews of USM presidents. The
committee then will vote on whether to reconvene in closed session to consider
items that fall under closing guidelines of the Open Meetings Act.
Those items are as
follows: 1) Legal advice concerning the impact and legal
requirements of a change in the Fair Labor Standards Act; 2) an update from
legal counsel on the status of an unfair labor practice complaint against an
institution; 3) approval of tentative agreements with labor unions; 4) an
information item regarding athletics contracts; 5) discussion concerning
proposals for a contract prior to award; and 6) options for compensation for
USM employees (§3-305(b)(1)(i).
