Board of Regents to Hold Special Meeting Later on Oct. 6 via Conference Call
Adelphi, Md. (Oct. 4, 2016) -- The University System of Maryland
(USM) Board of Regents Committee on Finance will meet on Thursday, October 6,
beginning with a public vote at 10:30 a.m. on whether to reconvene in closed
session. The meeting will take place in Room 4202 of the Camille Kendall
Academic Center (Building III) of the Universities at Shady Grove (USG), 9640
Gudelsky Drive.
In closed
session, the committee would discuss items that fall under closing guidelines
of the Open Meetings Act. Those items are a potential adjustment to the USM's
Fiscal Year 2018 capital budget to be submitted to the governor and consideration of the investment of the USM Common Trust Fund.
The
committee is scheduled to reconvene in public session at 11:30 a.m. and vote on
the Bowie State University facilities master plan. The committee also will vote
on approval sought by the University of Maryland, Baltimore to sell four
university-owned properties to Focus Development, LLC. The full agenda and

Later on
October 6, a special meeting of the full Board of Regents will occur via
conference call at 4 p.m. The board would vote publicly on whether to reconvene
in closed session. Public access to that vote is at the Columbus Center, Board
Room G020, 701 E. Pratt Street, Baltimore, MD. In closed session, the board
would discuss a request from the University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP)
for approval of an honorary degree award to an individual.
