USM Schools Continue to Attract Prestigious Rankings Recognitions
Adelphi, Md. (July 20,
2016) -- University
System of Maryland (USM) schools once again have been recognized as among the
nation's top universities for affordability, excellence, and work environment in
recent rankings by multiple publications.
Forbes Magazine's "America's
Top Colleges" issue named four USM institutions to its list: University of
Maryland, College Park (UMCP); University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC);
Towson University; and Salisbury University. Forbes bases its rankings on "tuition costs, school quality,
graduation success, and post-grad earnings."
MONEY Magazine ranked UMCP No. 10 nationally
among public universities in its inaugural list of "Best Value Colleges." UMCP
ranked No. 19 overall on the list, which also included UMBC and Towson and
Salisbury universities.
The Chronicle
of Higher Education named UMBC an "outstanding academic workplace" for the
seventh consecutive year. A UMBC news release
notes that the university is included in the Chronicle "honor roll" and was recognized there "for its strong
shared governance model, vision and strategy of leadership, and the
university's continued investment in teaching and research."
