USM Board of Regents Committee on Advancement to Meet October 28
Adelphi, Md. (Oct. 26, 2015) -- The
University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents Committee on Advancement
will meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 28. The meeting will be held in the
Chancellor's Conference Room in the Elkins Building at the USM headquarters,
3300 Metzerott Road, Adelphi, MD.
The committee will discuss several items. These items include
fundraising progress during the periods of fiscal year (FY) 2013 through FY
2015; a review of the committee's charge and goals; and a report on the
awarding the awarding of quasi-endowment program
grants for FY 2016. Funding for these grants comes from income generated by the
USM commitment of $10 million to the quasi-endowment fund created to support
endowment building across all institutions.
The committee also will review a number of
relevant USM policies regarding Advancement practices, such as policies on
affiliated foundations and ethical practices in charitable giving.
The
committee then would vote on whether to reconvene in closed session to discuss items
that fall under closing guidelines of the Open Meetings Act. Those items are requests
by two institutions to name buildings after individuals.
The agenda and supporting materials for Board of Regents
meetings are posted here.
