USM Board of Regents to Hold Annual Retreat
Adelphi, Md. (Oct. 21, 2015) -- The University
System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will hold its annual retreat on Friday,
October 23 at the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront Hotel. The hotel is located at 700
Aliceanna Street, Baltimore, MD.
The retreat begins at
8 a.m. in Dover Rooms A and B with a public vote on whether to reconvene in
closed session. In closed session, the board would discuss matters that fall
under the guidelines of the Open Meetings Act. Those matters are USM Office
organization, staffing, and other administrative issues; Board of Regents
organization, meeting formats and process for Board of Regents policy review;
and development of the fiscal year 2017 operating and capital budgets.
At approximately 10:15
a.m., the board will reconvene in public session for several informational
discussions, including equity in campus funding and updates on the USM's
Effectiveness and Efficiency 2.0 initiative. The afternoon session includes a
discussion on USM strategic plan updates.
