USM Board of Regents Committee on Advancement to Meet May 20
Adelphi, Md. (May 18,
2015) -- The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents Committee
on Advancement will meet at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 20. The meeting will be held
in the Chancellor's Conference Room in the Elkins Building at the USM
headquarters, 3300 Metzerott Road, Adelphi, MD.
The committee will hear a report on year-to-date fundraising
for fiscal year (FY) 2015 and vote on a naming request for two buildings that
comprise Phase III and Phase IV of the Towson University West Village. In
keeping with the tradition of naming buildings in West Village after historic
and prominent Maryland citizens, the university proposes to name the buildings
in honor of Thurgood Marshall and Charles Carroll.
The committee then would vote on whether to reconvene in
closed session to discuss an item that falls under closing guidelines of the
Open Meetings Act. That item is a request to name a building after a living
individual.
