USM Regents Committees on Finance, Economic Development Meet March 12
Finance Committee to Vote on New
Schedule of Room and Board Fees

Md. (March 10, 2015) -- The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of
Regents Committee on Finance and the Committee on Economic Development and
Technology Commercialization will meet on Thursday, March 12. Both meetings
will take place in the President's Board Room, 14th floor of the
Saratoga Office Building at the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB). The building
is located at 220 North Arch Street in Baltimore, Md.
At 10 a.m., the Committee on Finance will vote publicly on whether
to reconvene in closed session. In closed session, the committee would consider
an item specifically exempted in the Open Meetings Act from public
consideration. That item is the awarding of a contract with a single Microsoft‐authorized
Microsoft License Solutions Provider for the purpose of acquiring, supporting,
and distributing Microsoft software solutions.
The committee is
scheduled to reconvene in public session at 10:15 a.m. Action items include
campus self-support charges and fees for fiscal year (FY) 2016 and the
facilities master plan for Salisbury University. The committee will hear
several information items, including a review of capital improvement projects
and a report on FY 2014 procurement contracts. The agenda and supporting

The Committee on Economic Development and Technology
Commercialization will meet at 12:20 p.m. and hear an informational
presentation on a featured start-up, Breethe Inc. The company is developing the
world's first wearable artificial lung. Its technology is licensed through UMB.
The committee also will receive presentations on new initiatives through UM
Ventures and the latest USM new company information report. The agenda and
