USM Regents Committee on Education Policy and Student Life Meets March 3
Adelphi, Md. (Feb.
27, 2015) -- The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents
Committee on Education Policy and Student Life at its next meeting will vote on
three proposed degree programs and hear an update on the USM Center for
Academic Innovation.
The meeting is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday,
March 3, on the seventh floor of the Albin O. Kuhn Library on the campus of the
University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC).
Two of the degree programs are at
Frostburg State University: a B.S. in health science and a B.S. in secondary
teacher education. The third proposed program is an M.S. in cybersecurity
engineering technology at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
The Center for Academic Innovation
was established in June 2013 to enhance and promote the USM's position as a
national leader in higher education innovation. The update will discuss the
center's success in using learning and technological breakthroughs to improve
access, affordability, and outcomes in higher education.
The committee also will receive an
overview featuring important undergraduate data, including SAT percentile
distributions of first-time undergraduates and retention and graduation rates
