USM Regents Committee on Education Policy and Student Life Meets January 13
Adelphi, Md. (Jan. 9,
2015) -- The Committee on Education Policy and Student Life of the
University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will meet in public
session at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, January 13, in the Multi-Purpose Room of the
Christopher Columbus Center, 701 E. Pratt Street, Baltimore.
The committee will vote on three academic program proposals:
a B.S. in adventure sports management at Frostburg State University; a B.A. in
philosophy, society and applied ethics at the University of Baltimore; and an M.S. in cloud computing architecture at University of Maryland University
College.
The committee will hear a five-year review
of new academic programs and results of periodic reviews of academic programs.
The committee will also receive a report on external funding and discuss issues
surrounding representation at student conduct hearings.
The committee then will vote on whether to
reconvene in closed session to discuss items that fall under closing guidelines
of the Open Meetings Act. Those items are USM Regents' Faculty Award Committee
recommendations and honorary degree nominations. The agenda is available here.
