USM Board of Regents to Hold Annual Retreat
Adelphi, Md. (Nov. 20, 2014) -- The University
System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will hold its annual retreat on Tuesday,
November 25 at the Hotel at Arundel Preserve. The hotel is located at 7795
Arundel Mills Boulevard, Hanover, MD.
The retreat begins at
9 a.m. in the Patuxent and Patapsco rooms with a public vote on whether to
reconvene in closed session. In closed session, the board would discuss the development
of the fiscal year 2016 budget.
At approximately 10
a.m., the board will reconvene in public session for a panel presentation and
discussion, "Achieving the 55% College Completion Goal: The Path Forward in an
Era of Disruption."
The board also will
hear a presentation on national eminence in research and economic prosperity,
presented by Dr. James Duderstadt, president emeritus of the University of
Michigan. A final panel presentation will discuss efforts by the USM to
strengthen its research and innovation mission.
