USM Board of Regents Meets Sept. 19

Md. (Sept. 17, 2014) -- The University System of Maryland
(USM) Board of Regents at its next meeting will honor the recipients of the
Board of Regents staff awards. The board also will vote on the sale by
Coppin State University of the Hebrew Orphan Asylum to the Coppin Heights
Community Development Corporation, two proposed master's degree programs at
Towson University, and revisions to the Board of Regents policy on student
social media privacy.
The
meeting will begin at 9 a.m. September 19, at Towson University in the West
Village Commons, Ballroom B.
The
board also will receive the 2013-14 summary of USM institutional achievement
gap reports for informational purposes and vote on a proposed policy to implement
incentive-based compensation for athletic directors and coaches.
The regents will hear reports from the councils of university system
presidents, faculty, staff and students. At the end of the public agenda, the board
will vote on whether to reconvene in closed session to discuss personnel,
legal, property acquisition, public investment, collective bargaining, and
administrative items that fall under closing guidelines of the Open Meetings
