Princeton Review Profiles Three USM Schools in 2015 'Best Colleges' Book
Adelphi, Md. (Aug. 6, 2014) -- The
Princeton Review has named three University System of Maryland (USM)
institutions among The Best 379 Colleges
in its annual edition of leading U.S. colleges.
The publication honored the University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP), the
University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC), and Salisbury University by
including profiles of each university in its yearly guide to the best higher
education institutions in the country.
UMCP is the flagship institution of the USM and has routinely been included
in the Princeton Review "Best Colleges"
review.
In the Best 379 Colleges profile
of UMBC,
the publication noted, "UMBC is a place where it is cool to be smart, and
everything about the campus, including the students, exudes ‘nerd-chic.' "
UMBC also has been included in the Princeton Review guidebook for many years. The guidebook has cited UMBC's prestigious recognition by U.S. News & World Report for being listed with Princeton, Brown, Yale and Stanford as a national leader for the high quality of its undergraduate teaching.
Spotlighted in the review for Salisbury
University (SU) were the academic experience, the diversity in the student body,
students' commitment to their fields of study and the variety of student life
activities available.
In January, the Princeton Review and USA Today named SU among the Top 80 “Best Value Public Colleges” for 2014.
