USM Regents Finance Committee to Hold Capital Budget Workshop May 15
Adelphi, Md. (May 13,
2014) -- The Committee on Finance of the University System of Maryland (USM)
Board of Regents will hold its annual capital budget workshop on Thursday, May
15, to review and discuss strategic goals and priorities for the system's
capital improvement program.
The meeting will be held in the multi-purpose room of the
Christopher Columbus Center, 701 E. Pratt Street, Baltimore. The board will
convene at 9 a.m. with a public vote on whether to reconvene in closed session.
In closed session, the board would conduct a work session to begin preparation
of the initial 2016 USM capital budget document.
The public session is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. In addition to members of the full Board of Regents, the
presidents of the system's 12 institutions will participate. The workshop will
help prepare the finance committee for its meeting on June 19, during which it
will consider capital budget recommendations to present to the full board at
its meeting scheduled for June 27. The meeting is anticipated to last until 3
p.m.
The board will then vote publicly on whether to reconvene in
a brief closed session, for further board discussion on the capital budget
document, led by Committee on Finance chair Hon. Francis X. Kelly, Jr. and USM
Chancellor William E. Kirwan.
