USM Regents Advancement Committee Meets May 14, Followed by Same-Day Special Meeting of Board of Regents Regarding 2014-15 Tuition
Adelphi,
Md. (May 12, 2014) -- The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of
Regents Advancement Committee will meet at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14. The
meeting will be held in the Chancellor's Conference Room in the
Elkins Building at the USM headquarters, 3300 Metzerott Road, Adelphi, MD.
The
committee will hear several information items, including a discussion of the
USM Foundation (USMF) role in endowment building and a report on to-date
fundraising update for fiscal year (FY) 2014. The committee also will discuss
implementation of the quasi-endowment plan, which followed from legislation
permitting the USM to create a quasi-endowment of up to $50 million in
order to generate income to enhance fundraising efforts. Background materials
and the full agenda are available here.
At 1 p.m., a special public
meeting of the full Board of Regents will be held in the Atrium of the USM
headquarters. The board will vote on the FY 2015 schedule of tuition and
mandatory fees and the FY 2015 operating budget.
As proposed, the 2015 resident undergraduate full‐time and
part‐time tuition rates, along with summer school rates, will not increase by
more than 3 percent for all institutions with the exception of Salisbury
University. Resident undergraduate tuition at Salisbury University would increase
by 6 percent, the fourth in a series of adjustments needed for that institution
to reach market parity. Background materials and the agenda are
available here.
Sign language interpreters and/or other appropriate accommodations
for eligible individuals with disabilities will be provided upon request.
Please call 301.445.2756 (voice) or 301.314.7683 (TTY/ITT) for special
arrangements.
