USM Board of Regents Committee on Education Policy and Student Life Meets April 30
Adelphi, Md. (April 28, 2014) -- The University
System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents Committee on Education Policy and
Student Life will meet in a day-long public session, beginning at 9 a.m. on
Wednesday, April 30. The purpose of the session is to review and discuss the
proposed mission statements of the USM institutions and regional centers.
The
meeting will be held in the Chancellor's Conference Room at the USM headquarters,
3300 Metzerott Road, Adelphi, Md.
USM
institutions and regional centers prepared mission statements following
guidelines and format specifications announced by the Maryland Higher Education
Commission (MHEC) in November 2013. Institution presidents and executive
directors, or their designees, will present those statements and be available
to respond to questions from members of the Committee on Education Policy and
Student Life.
The
committee will make a recommendation on the statements, inclusive of any
revisions, at its regularly scheduled meeting on June 3. During its meeting on
June 27, the full Board of Regents will consider the statements for final
adoption.
