USM Board of Regents Meets December 6
Adelphi, Md. (Dec.
4, 2013) -- The University
System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents at its next meeting will vote on the
facilities master plan update for the Universities at Shady Grove and hear an
information item from the Regents Task Force on Enabling Transformation Through
Technology.
The
meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Friday, December 6 in the Multi-Purpose Room
of Building II at the Universities at Shady Grove (USG), 9630 Gudelsky Drive,
Rockville, MD.
The
USG facilities master plan (FMP) update builds upon its FMP from 2003 and is
consistent with USG's mission, strategic plan and current enrollment growth
projections.
The
Regents Task Force on Enabling Transformation Through Technology was created in
October during the board's annual retreat. In the recent past a number of
industries have undergone radical transformation due to the application of
information technologies. The board has established this task force to
investigate the changes and opportunities that technology presents to the USM.
The regents will hear reports from the councils
of university system presidents, faculty, staff and students. The full agenda,
with supporting materials, can be accessed at http://www.usmd.edu/regents/agendas/fb120613p.php.
The board will vote at the end of its public
agenda on whether to reconvene in closed session to discuss personnel, legal,
and administrative items that fall under the closing guidelines of the Open
Meetings Act.
