USM Regents Committees on Finance, Economic Development to Meet September 12
Adelphi, Md. (Sept.
10, 2013) -- The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents
Committee on Finance will consider several action items at its next meeting on
Thursday, September 12.
The meeting will begin at 10:00 a.m. in the President's
Board Room, 14th floor of the Saratoga Office Building at the
University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB). The building is located at 220 North
Arch Street, Baltimore, MD 21201. The committee first will take a public vote
on whether to reconvene in closed session.
The public session is scheduled to begin at 10:45 a.m. The
committee will vote on a resolution to spend USM cash balances on revenue-bond
authorized projects; a lease extension at the Laboratory for Physical Sciences
at the University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP); and consulting services for
the implementation of the Kuali Financial System at UMCP.
The committee also will hear information items on a review
of USM capital improvement projects and a briefing on USM's response to the

The Committee on Economic
Development and Technology Commercialization at noon and will vote publicly on
whether to reconvene in closed session. The committee is scheduled to meet in
public session at 12:40 p.m.
The committee will hear three information items: strategies for increasing access to
early stage capital; review of the policy on intellectual property; and new
companies facilitated by USM institutions, January 2013 through June 2013.
