USM Board of Regents Committee on Organization and Compensation Holds Meetings June 4 and June 6
Adelphi, Md. (June 3,
2013) -- The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents Committee
on Organization and Compensation will hold two meetings this week, at 10 a.m.
Tuesday, June 4 and 11 a.m. Thursday, June 6.
For both meetings, the first agenda item will be a public
vote on whether to reconvene in closed, executive session.
The
meetings will be held in the Board Room, 14th floor of the Saratoga
Building at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. The building is located at
220 North Arch Street, Baltimore, MD.
On June 4, with passage of a vote to meet in closed session,
the committee would review collective bargaining memoranda of understanding (MOUs)
involving the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees with
non-exempt employees at University of Maryland University College; University
of Maryland Eastern Shore; University of Baltimore (UB); and UB police
officers. It would also discuss two other collective bargaining MOUs, between
police officers at the University of Maryland, Baltimore and the Fraternal
Order of Police and the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science
and the Maryland Classified Employees Association.
Also on June 4, the committee would review multi-year
contracts for the positions of women's volleyball coach and women's basketball
coach at Towson University, discuss supplementary retirement contributions for
two USM employees, and discuss personnel evaluations and compensation reviews
for the presidents of the 12 USM institutions.
On June 6, the committee will hold a public vote on whether
to reconvene in closed, executive session. With passage of that vote, the
committee would continue its work from the June 4 meeting by finishing
discussion of the item regarding presidents' evaluations and compensation
reviews.
The Committee on Organization and Compensation discusses
only matters that concern compensation and personnel. These compensation and
personnel matters fall within the proper guidelines of the Maryland Open
Meetings Act for holding meetings in closed session.
