USM Board of Regents to Hold Special Meeting May 15
Adelphi, Md. (May 13,
2013) -- The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will hold
a special public meeting to vote on a proposed schedule of tuition and mandatory
fees for fiscal year (FY) 2014 and hear a presentation of the final report prepared
by the Special Review Committee on Coppin State University.
The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 15, in
Room 109 of the Physical Education Complex at Coppin State University, 2500 W. North
Avenue, Baltimore, MD.
In December 2012, the board established a committee to
conduct a comprehensive review of Coppin State University (CSU) and develop
strategies to increase student
retention and graduation rates, improve administrative operations and financial
stability, and build a culture focused on success. A transition in leadership
at CSU has provided the board an opportunity to consider such a review. The
review process has included three public hearings on campus.
The
committee's report addresses the questions that informed the review and
outlines strategies to help build the institution's long-term future. The
report will be discussed during this meeting as an information item.
In addition
to the FY 2014 tuition and mandatory fee schedule, the board will vote on the
FY 2014 operating budget. Parking
is available in Lot H. For driving directions to Coppin State University and a
