USM Board of Regents Meets April 12
Adelphi, Md. (April
10, 2013) -- The University System Board of Regents at its next meeting will
present Regents Awards to faculty members and vote on several new academic
programs.
The public session will begin at 9 a.m. on Friday, April 12.
The board will meet in the Hilda and Michael Bogomolny Room (5th
floor) of the Student Center at the University of Baltimore (UB), 21 W. Mt.
Royal Avenue, Baltimore, Md.
The Regents Awards are the highest honor presented by the
Board of Regents to exemplary faculty members. Offered in four categories, the
awards honor excellence in teaching; scholarship, research or creative
activities; public service; and mentoring.
New academic program proposals are under consideration at
Frostburg State, Salisbury University, and UB. In other action, the board will
vote on self-support charges and fees for fiscal year 2014 and hear brief
summaries of information items presented at earlier board committee meetings.
The regents will hear reports from the councils of
university system presidents, faculty, staff and students. Background information and the full agenda are available at

At the end of the session, the
board will vote publicly on whether to reconvene in closed, executive session.
