USM Board of Regents Committees on Finance, Economic Development Meet January 24

-- The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents Committee on Finance
at its next meeting will hear a proposal for the construction of a new press
box for Bobcat Stadium on the campus of Frostburg State University.
The committee first will publicly announce it is convening in
executive session at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 24 in Room 2110 of the
University of Maryland University College (UMUC) Inn and Conference Center,
3501 University Blvd. East, Adelphi, MD. The committee is scheduled to meet in
public session at 11:30 a.m. in rooms 2101/2103/2105.
Frostburg State University seeks to demolish the existing press
box at Bobcat Stadium and construct a replacement facility. Bobcat Stadium,
located on the FSU main campus, is used to host numerous sporting events. The
current facility is in poor condition and must be brought up to current
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) standards.

The USM Board of Regents Committee on Economic Development and Technology
Commercialization will publicly announce at noon that it is convening in
executive session. The public session is scheduled to begin at 12:45 p.m. in
rooms 2100/2102/2104.
The committee will hear three
information items. The first item is a presentation regarding entrepreneurship
and innovative at comprehensive universities. Secondly, the committee will announce and release a study on the
economic impact of the USM conducted by the Jacob France Institute. A twoâ€page
"highlights" document and the full report will be released. Last, the
committee will hear an update on recommendations from the Cyber Security Task
Force.
