USM Board of Regents Committee on Education Policy and Student Life Meets Jan. 16
Adelphi, Md. (Jan. 11, 2013) -- The University System of Maryland
(USM) Board of Regents Committee on Education Policy and Student Life at its
next meeting will vote on several new academic programs and hear an information
item on levels of USM external funding.
The meeting
will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 16, at Towson University in the
West Village Commons, Ballroom-A Room WC 403.
The
committee will vote on a proposed M.S. in forensic science at the University of
Baltimore, a proposed M.S. in regulatory science at the University of Maryland,
Baltimore, and four new degree programs at University of Maryland University
College.
The report
on external funding provides information on outside funding awards received by
USM institutions to support specific initiatives in research, education, or
service during fiscal year 2012. The report also provides five years of summary
data by institution for comparison purposes.
The
committee also will discuss a recent presentation at the Statewide College
Completion Summit by three USM institutions (Towson University, Bowie State,
and the University of Maryland, College Park,) regarding programs that
represent best practice innovations increasing student retention and degree
completion.
