USM Board of Regents to Hold Annual Retreat at Hotel at Arundel Preserve
Adelphi, Md. (Oct. 3, 2012) -- The University
System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will hold its annual public retreat
on Friday, October 5 at the Hotel at Arundel Preserve. The retreat begins at 10:15 a.m. The hotel is
located at 7795 Arundel Mills Boulevard, Hanover, MD.
The board's retreat
will include a presentation on board governance by the Association of Governing
Boards (AGB), facilitated by AGB President Rick Legon.
Another session
will focus on academic transformation and the impact of online learning
platforms. Participants will include William G. Bowen, president emeritus of
Princeton University and founding chairman of ITHAKA, a non-profit organization
that helps the academic community use digital technologies to advance research
and teaching in sustainable ways.
