USM Regents Committees on Education Policy, Effectiveness and Efficiency Meet January 25
Adelphi, Md. (Jan. 20,
2012) -- The University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents Committee
on Education Policy and the Committee on Effectiveness and Efficiency will meet
Wednesday, January 25. The meetings will be held in the Atrium at the Elkins
Building at the University System of Maryland headquarters, 3300 Metzerott
Road, Adelphi, MD.
The Committee on Education Policy will meet in public
session at 9:30 a.m. The committee will vote on two new academic program
proposals: an Ed.D. in educational
leadership at Frostburg State University and an M.A. in global governance and
human security at the University of Baltimore.
The committee also will hear several discussion items,
including presentations regarding inter-professional education initiatives at
the University of Maryland, Baltimore and the Universities at Shady Grove. After
the public meeting, the committee will meet in executive session.
The Effectiveness and Efficiency Committee will begin its
public meeting at 1 p.m. It will hear discussion items on the USM course
redesign initiative, 2010-11 USM dashboard indicators (standard annual data regarding
USM initiatives), and a report on alternative means of earning academic credit.
After the public meeting, the committee will meet in executive session.
