Finance Committee to Meet October 9 at Towson University

The Committee on Finance of the University System of Maryland (USM) Board of Regents will meet in public session on Thursday, October 9 at 8:30 a.m. in the Chesapeake Room I on the third floor of the University Union at Towson University.
The Finance Committee will consider several agenda items, including:
- Fiscal Year 2005 schedule of tuition and mandatory fees
- Fiscal Year 2005 operating budget request - current services budget
- USM tuition plan for FY 2005-2009
- Supplemental budget request
- Four-year tuition plan analysis
- Towson University master plan for 2002-2012
- Proposed modifications to Regents policy on military leave with pay for exempt and non-exempt staff employees on regular status; and on call-up to active military duty during a national or international crisis or conflict for exempt and non-exempt staff employees on regular status
- Increase in funding authorization for Coastal Ecology Teaching and Research Laboratory project at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore
- Resolution to authorize the University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP) to finance $8 million for its share of the construction cost of the Riggs Alumni Center and to enter into a space lease for a portion of the center
- Lease for Research Park Building 1, formerly known as the Litton Building 4, to accommodate UMCP's Center for Advanced Studies of Languages
- Proposal by the University of Maryland University College (UMUC) to award an operating and managing contract to Marriott International for the university's hotel and conference center enterprise
- Tuition Task Force briefing by UMUC President Jerry Heeger, chair of the task force
