Education Policy Committee to Meet September 13 at Coppin State College
The Committee on Education Policy of the University System of Maryland (USM)
Board of Regents will meet in public session on Thursday, September 13 in the
Parren J. Mitchell Room of the Parlett Longworth Moore Library at Coppin State
College, 2500 West North Avenue in Baltimore. The meeting will begin at 9 a.m.
The Education Policy Committee will consider several agenda items, including:
- Report on proposed revisions to the USM's policy on undergraduate
admissions, designed to accommodate the transition of Maryland's secondary
schools to a proficiency-based system
- New program proposals, including a master of public administration and
post-baccalaureate certificate in management from Bowie State University;
and an existing master of public administration and doctor of public
administration to be offered off-site by the University of Baltimore
- Recommendations on academic programs identified by the Maryland Higher
Education Commission as "low productivity"
- Strategic plans for the USM's Universities at Shady Grove and Hagerstown
Education Center
